School Performance
The educational progress of every child at Thorner C of E Primary School is carefully monitored throughout their time with us to ensure they achieve their full potential.
When children join us in Reception, their learning is assessed using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Profile, which builds on the observations and assessments made at their nursery or pre-school. Your child’s progress will be shared with you regularly through parents’ evenings and their end-of-year report.
As pupils move through the school, their attainment and progress are measured against the National Curriculum expectations for each year group. In Year 6, children take part in the national assessments (SATs), which are externally marked. The results of these assessments are shared with parents in the end-of-year report, alongside information about your child’s wider achievements and progress.
Performance Data
The performance of the school is measured in part through the results of these assessments and tests. While these focus mainly on English and Maths, they represent only one aspect of the broad, balanced, and enriching education we provide for every child.
