School Performance
The educational performance of the children at Thorner CofE Primary School is continually measured throughout their time in school.
When your child enters school in Reception they will be assessed using the Foundation Stage Profile criteria which will lead directly on from the assessments made at your child's nursery. The progress of your child will be discussed with you at parents' evenings and in your child's end of year report.
During the rest of your child's time in school they will be measured against the National Curriculum requirements. At Year 6 your child will take part in National assesments. these will be in the form of tests that are marked externally. The results of these assessments will be reported to you in your child's end of year report.

The performance of the school is measured in part using the outcomes of statutory assessments and tests. These assessments focus primarily on English and Maths and represent just one element of the broader education we provide for your child.
We are pleased to share below the 2025 SATs results for our school:
While these results are an important indicator, they do not reflect the full picture of each child’s learning journey, personal development, or the many enriching experiences that take place across the curriculum.
